BreastFest 2009 Welcomes Susan G. Komen! July 2, 2009

I am proud to announce that a representative from the Triangle chapter of Susan G. Komen will be presenting at BreastFest 2009!

The speaker will have breast cancer awareness materials on-hand to pass out to guests and a special presentation about how donations are put to use for breast cancer awareness and research here in North Carolina. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how Komen puts your generous donations to use for women (and men!) locally.
BreastFest is so excited to have this special guest! More updates on the event to come, so stay tuned.
Remember When Michael Jackson Died on My BIRTHDAY? June 29, 2009

WORST.BIRTHDAY.PRESENT.EVER.
Tar Heel Walk loves Michael Jackson…

“You have to show them that you’re really not scared. You’re playing with your life, this ain’t no truth or dare.”
You see that? Michael Jackson wants you to go to BreastFest.
You know, all this time I was thinking to myself, “Self, clearly there is some theme that connects all of Michael Jackson’s work.” And finally, it has become clear. Michael Jackson supports breast cancer research, and you should, too.
In all seriousness, anyone who knows me knows that there is a little hole left in my heart with MJ’s passing. You can bet we’ll be playing some MJ at BreastFest.

Hope to see you there.
Boobs and Birthdays June 23, 2009

Nothing says birthday like a pinata.
Something is going on this Thursday…hmmm…Custer’s last stand? No…Carly Simon’s birthday?…No…Wait, wait, think on it…
(Did you figure it out yet?)
Not only is Thursday a national holiday (I’m sure in some countries, I mean), it’s also my birthday. That’s right, folks. I was considerate enough to be born right smack in the middle of the year. That way, you know you’ve only got six months until Christmas. Isn’t that so handy?
Last year I had a fantastic birthday – I ate Mexican (every day is my birthday in a Mexican restaurant), busted a pinata filled with candy and other unmentionables, and screeched my way through several terrible karaoke songs.
And because I’m boring and unpredictable (or maybe because I just know what I like), this year I’ll be doing pretty much exactly the same thing. Except I have a special request. For my birthday (and the sake of my boobs…and boobs everywhere), please pass along this website to your friends and family. And plan on coming to BreastFest in August. I have several exciting plans in the works.
And I promise you won’t get swine flu!
(Isn’t that reason enough?)
