Tar Heel Walk 2009

Dear loyal blog readers:

(Are you loyal? Have you been repeatedly checking Tar Heel Walk for updates in the past few weeks? Do you hope and pray each day that the blog will be updated?)

I sincerely apologize for the lack in recent updates. Believe me, that is about to change. Why, you ask? Because Nicole and I are getting ready to walk 60 miles. 

THIS WEEKEND.

That’s right, the breast cancer fundraiser walk that we worked so hard to raise money for is finally HERE. 

And thanks to all your support, we have actually SURPASSED our original goal.

Now, on to the pressing issue: Thursday evening we will leave for Washington, DC, to embark on our journey. The Susan G. Komen Foundation wants us to arrive bright and early Friday morning – before 6:30 AM, to be exact – to meet our fellow walkers and start our daily 20 mile trek.

We’ll return Sunday evening after closing ceremonies, if we can make it back to the car on both legs. 

I will be taking pictures (big surprise) – so check back for updates after Sunday – I did have the brilliant idea of capturing our expressions after each mile, but I think that’s going to be a little…overkill. Still, look for a before and after of our faces. It’s sure to be hilarious.
